My name is Daniel Costello, and I am a senior studying Computer Science at DePaul University. This project is part of IT 320: Content Management Systems, where I’m learning to design, deploy, and customize a WordPress-based website on a shared hosting environment.
This site showcases my progress with my focus being on web hosting, CMS development, and applying data-driven design to real-world applications. This site showcases how to configure themes, use plugins, and maintain a secure environment on shared hosting.
So far, I have used:
- WordPress 6.x
- PHP 8.x
- MySQL
- cPanel File Manager
- LiteSpeed Cache & Loginizer for optimization and security
Beyond this course, I’ve worked in DePaul’s IS Department as a Technical Deployment Assistant and continue developing projects involving Java, Python, and data systems. I currently work as a freelance software developer for a medium-sized data management company. My long-term goal is to combine front-end design with back-end logic to create secure, data-driven web applications.
